Away from the Hard

Today is the day, we are saying good bye to the hard, yes very good news.  The hard is the boat yard; an industrial place full of yachts, cranes and hazardous substances.  This is where boats get their maintenance done and where women should never go.  Ha, ha... It's not nice, the bathroom is not nice, it is very hot, anyway, we are done with this stage of the operation.
As you know, we arrived in Trinidad on September 1st, and ever since we got here, our routine consists of waking up early in the morning, having the right amount of coffee and heading out to the yard to do some work.  We take a brake for a quick lunch, head back and do some other work until about six in the afternoon.

Our days are tedious and like I said the surroundings at the boat yard are not pretty, Jerome started with the installation of the batteries and so forth we have been fixing what was needed.  We changed the refrigeration system which included changing the electrical system.  This is an area where Jerome is the subject matter expert, he will write something here when he has a chance in order for you to understand the incredible job he has been doing.  He bought a book and has been studying these electrical system when we were back in Tampa.

Yesterday I came up with the idea of doing the teak myself because I remember seeing Boris, the Russian guy in Fajardo when he cleaned the teak and it didn't seem like a complicated task.  You apply one chemical and then scrub the other; rinse with water and voila beautiful bright teak.  I started doing the application with Terence and he ended up doing the rest including the whole rail.  Terence we love you!   I can tell Terence is starting to enjoy this.  Talk to you later, today I'm at the house and I need to organize our things since we will be leaving pretty soon.
